Can someone help me yse this poem?

i guess, the personification of the sun creeping shows that it is scared, it is scared of death and the 'mortal fire' which would kill it. this shows the poet has a negative attitude towards war, it reminds me of the battle of the somme, when thousands of people died as they charged over the hill. the night before people would have been terrified of the dawn, the dawn were they have to charge over the hill and come face to face with death. i think the sun is the poet, it knows what it going to happen so it, tries to delay it by coming 'slowly'
