Is from g's to gents a real show with real people or is it all staged?

Half and half would be my guess. The real half are these peoples' lives; seriously. Being found in a trash bin while you were only two months old!? That's either the most creative lie I've ever heard, or a messed up life. The second half that's not so honest is the reality show itself...
