Baseball Waiver Wire Advice?

So one of the managers in my league decided to give up on Redsox 1B and DH David Ortiz. I was thinking about dropping Colorado Rockies 2B Clint Barmes for Ortiz. They've both had horrible starts to the season but I feel like Big Papi has a better chance of righting the ship than Barmes, what do you think? Should I pick up Ortiz and drop Barmes?
