What sort of "neat" stuff can i put over my patio windows.?

A bird flew straight at my patio windows and i watched it suffer and die. It was heartbreaking. Any ideas on what i could stick over the window so that the birds know it is gl. I do not want to keep the curtains pulled. Thanks.
