The Lottery is not boring, and it's very easy to read. Once you've read the story you'll understand how winning the lottery is the unluckiest thing that can happen to you. If you try to have a more positive attitude towards the ignment it will be easier and go more quickly. At the very least, google the story titles or go to Wikipedia and you'll get the info you need.
